Once more a high level corporate executive had the thrill of slipping anonymously into the rank and file of their own companies – this week we were introduced to first female CEO with an emotional installment that focused on Kim Schaefer, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts which is recognized as the country’s largest family of indoor water park resorts.
Kim Schaefer who heads North America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts discovered what her workers really do on a daily basis as Chris Miller a stay at home mom who has the opportunity to take a few of entry positions to see how she will can do at them.
Kim Schaefer struggled on day one she became a Cub Club assistant and worked with Bree, Cub Club Guide, to give children a piece of dough to make a pizza.
Bree revealed that her husband lost his job 23 years ago and working at the company saved her life but she has no idea how she will pay her daughter’s college tuition.
One day two she worked the front desk and met Jackie is a single mom, who has had surgery on her knees earlier on and is set to go under the knife again for the bad limb.
On day three Kim was introduced to Kelly, the aquatic supervisor, in charge of overseeing the other lifeguards and has dreams to become a pilot one day.
On her last day on the job in a restaurant ,Kim met Deanna who lost her daughter about 11 years ago, at the age of 9 in a terrible car accident.
The story melted Kim’s heart and she got very emotional while talking about the other woman’s pain.
As always the boss rewarded her hard working employees:
Deanna was will be heading food/beverage training supervisor,was given a raise and some time off to be with her family.
Kelly was given the opportunity to attend flight school and will be joining the new program in aquatics for him to move up the ladder.
Bree will become resort ambassador for the Cub Club, with an increase in pay and will get money for her daughter’s college education.
Jackie Kim will now be working the front desk supervisor, will have some time off to recover after her operation.
