Shane Hmiel Car Crash

Driver Shane Hmiel suffered a car crash during a qualifying race at Terre Haute, when he flipped in the turns three and four. He is now reportedly in stable but critical condition. Latest reports indicate Hmiel is in an induced coma and doctors are treating him and performing tests.

According to initial reports from the accident, Shane Hmiel was unresponsive at the scene of the car crash.  As a result of the accident, he had to be hospitalized in Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital and taken into the intensive care unit.

“We are very concerned about Shane and offer our resources and our support to his family during this time of healing.” said USAC President/CEO Kevin Miller

We wish a prompt and full recovery to Shane Hmiel, and we send the best wishes to his family.
