Neiman Marcus peddles priciest holiday gifts

If you’re scratching your head about a holiday gift for the lucky person in your life who has everything, consider a $75,000 limited-edition Camaro convertible or a “his and hers” 48-foot MetroShip luxury houseboat for $250,000.

In its annual exercise of letting us dream about how the other 0.04 percent of the world lives, Neiman Marcus unveiled its 84th Christmas Book of ostentatious one-of-a-kind gifts for those with beaucoup bucks. The luxury Dallas retailer has something for everyone on the list, from the arts patron to the musician to the spoiled child.

Topping the fantasy gifts at $1.5 million is an art installation by glass artist Dale Chihuly for the bottom of your swimming pool.

For $125,000, A-list celebrity event planner Colin Cowie will create a special Tequila Avion party for 75 guests at your home, with food by Boston chef Todd English, cocktails by mixologist Yusef Austin and tunes by DJ Donna d’Cruz.

Musicians in your inner circle might enjoy the $6,000 handmade gourd ukulele with mother-of-pearl inlays by Danny Ferrington, who’s made string instruments for the likes of George Harrison, Keith Richards and Chrissie Hynde.

And for little Muffy and Biff, a life-size edible gingerbread playhouse will set you back $15,000. It’s made of 381 pounds of gourmet gingerbread and 517 pounds of royal icing by New York’s Dylan’s Candy Bar, with giant cookies, gummies, mints, a candy roof and an interior lollipop tree.

No time to sit down and shop? No worries. This year, customers can download the “NM Editions” app to their iPad to access the Christmas Book and place orders.
