”Injury Central: Javhid Best Should Play, Austin Collie Could Play”
Jahvid Best burst onto the scene with two rushing touchdowns in each of his first two games. Since then he’s been kept from the end zone and only rushed the ball 19 times in two games for 76 yards.
Whether you believe his mediocrity over the last two weeks is a result of his turf toe injury or the fact that defenses are finding ways to stop him, you should be concerned about Sunday’s game against St. Louis.
Best is questionable for the game, and if he does play, it will be on the turf in Detroit — not a great place to rehab a turf toe injury.
Twice this season Austin Collie has pulled in more than 10 catches in a game. He’s also scored a touchdown in each of his first four games.
Collie has been slowed in practice this week by a foot injury and one report from ESPN’s John Clayton says that Collie will not play. A conflicting report from Phillip Wilson of The Indianapolis Star says that Collie may give it a try.
