Secrets of Weight Loss Revealed

Do you want to lose weight fast for a special occasion or maybe just for the sake of looking more attractive and feeling young again? Even though there are a lot of methods you can use to lose weight, if you lose weight too fast, it can do some serious damage. Fasting, fad diets, and diet pills can cause you to lose weight faster. They may also have you lose muscle plus injure your heart and other organs at a fast pace. What's the answer to this problem? Follow these steps to lose weight fast and naturally.

Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Fruits and vegetables have fibers that are a benefit plus vitamins and antioxidants. They cause your stomach to feel full faster and are also low in calories and also keep your calorie count minimal. Most people overlook the importance of this law and wonder what's wrong. Watch the portion you eat. For instance, one serving of pasta means a half cup of cooked pasta. Most restaurants give you a pasta dish with four servings of pasta. There's no reason to eat all of the pasta at once or to try to eat all of it in one setting. Just take home the leftovers.

Don't skip any meals. Eating small meals on a frequent basis will balance your calorie intake and will keep your blood sugar level exactly where it's supposed to be. For instance, rather than eat 3 large meals during the day just eat 5 - 6 smaller meals.

Try to eat wholesome fresh foods. If you can, buy fresh foods and avoid package (processed) and especially fast food. Packaged foods are often higher in salt and fat. Most people I talk to are surprised at the fact that they can lose more weight by eating a home-cooked meal for lunch instead of eating out. Don't be too strict with yourself. People think that in order to lose weight that they have to quit eating their favorite treat for good but actually its OK to eat that tempting food every now and then. What people don't understand is that its frequency and quantity that matters. In fact, eliminating all of your favorite treats will most likely lead to a relapse.

Become familiar with Food Claims and Labels. Something that says its fat free doesn't mean that its low in calories. On the other hand, something that says low-sugar doesn't mean that its low in calories and fat. Always make sure that you read the nutrition label.

Keep a close eye on drinks high in sugar. Drinks like soda, juice, cream and sugar in your tea or coffee start to add up fast. Make sure you drink about 8 glasses of water everyday. Not only will it give your body hydration, it will also help you feel full when you eat.

Try keeping a food journal. When you keep a food journal, you can easily track your eating patterns to keep them in check. You can also adjust it a little if you need to. Another good idea is to have your Registered Dietitian review your food journal. Exercise Regularly. 30 - 60 minutes a day of being physically active is what's recommended. Another good idea is to add weight-bearing exercises starting at twice a week. The weight-bearing exercises will help burn the calories not wanted.
