Day 7 was again a good productive day for India when it showed its strength in many areas of the Commonwealth Games 2010 being held at Delhi.

Total 15 medals were won by India today out of which five were Gold Medals. The second slot in total medal tally list lost yesterday by India to England was regained back with this large haul of medals today.

Yesterday by the end of the day England and India were both with 24 gold medals. But India lost second place in medals tally to England as the total number of medals including silver and bronze count was higher in England’s case. With addition of five more gold medals today India’s total tally of gold medals reaches to 29 on closing of day 7.

With a full strength of 17,000 match viewers in the stadium, the hockey pool decider match between India and Pakistan was witnessed by huge number of people across the borders.

The winner of the today’s hockey match was to go for semifinal whereas the loser is out of the game here onwards. India beat Pakistan 7-4 in the decider with much comfort and all the time remained in attacking mode. Whereas most of the time Pakistan was in defensive mode.

Reason could be that most of the Pakistan’s players were fresh with least experience whereas India team comprised of quite a good experienced players.

Today’s gold medal winners for India included Teen girl archer Deepika Kumari, Archer Rahul Banerjee both in individual recurve event in their respective sections.

Two bronze medals in archery came through Dola Banerjee and Jayanta Talukdar in Women and Men individual recurve event respectively.
